John Seargeant – Lead Mediator / Owner

For over 20 years, John Seargeant has been driven to find and craft innovative solutions for families facing challenging circumstances. As a noteworthy leader in the mediation community, John has dedicated his career to educating and promoting the benefits of mediation across Saskatchewan, believing it to be an essential tool for peaceful conflict resolution. You may have seen or heard John navigating the radio waves, sharing his insights and experiences, or from one of his various contributions across numerous social media channels, where he passionately advocates for effective communication and understanding. His engaging presence and ability to connect with audiences have made him a respected figure in the field. Since December of 2019, John has been recognized by the Ministry of Justice, Government of Saskatchewan, as a valuable resource to help parties work through and resolve family issues prior to seeking a court solution, a process that he believes should be approached with care and empathy (Section 7-4 of The King’s Bench Act, 2023). Furthermore, he was recognized by the ADR Institute of Saskatchewan in 2020 with a Q.Med (Qualified Mediator) designation, a testament to his expertise and commitment to excellence in mediation practices, consistently striving to enhance his skills and knowledge to better serve the families in his community. Through his unyielding dedication and extensive experience, John continues to make a lasting impact, guiding families towards more harmonious resolutions.

John graduated with his B.Th (Theology) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2000, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey that laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Following this achievement, John began his mediation training journey in 2016, motivated by a desire to cultivate skills that could help resolve conflicts effectively and promote understanding in diverse environments. His broad personal experience in various workplace situations, including civic politics, where he navigated complex discussions and diverse opinions, office project management, where he harmonized team dynamics to achieve common goals, retail, where he honed his customer service skills and learned the importance of patience, and religious institutions, where he engaged in community-building efforts, has equipped him with a unique perspective on conflict resolution and interpersonal communication.

John has been married for over 25 years and loves the parenting journey of his 2 adult children and teenage son.  John and his family have lived across Saskatchewan for the past 20 years and currently reside in Moose Jaw. John is an avid sports fan and actively volunteers for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
